KISS ME DEADLY

Debut album from Montreal based band Kiss Me Deadly, released in 2002. A much more raw and angsty sound than their follow-up releases. Less refined, full of punk-ish naiveté, but that's what makes it good. So yeah, great songs.

INTRO

Hi. holdmedear and I talked for a long time about random stuff and we ended up talking about music community on the internet. So here I am, contributing to his music blog now becoming ours. Glad to introduce myself, Madder, mostly listening to : postrock, mathrock, old screamo, posthardcore, noisecore, hip hop, dubstep, trip-hop, drone and electronic. Lots of ambient and instrumental music.
Hope you will enjoy my contribution, even if my taste of music seems a little bit different than my buddy.

YUKAWA SHIONE

Can't recommand her enough.

My current favorite singer-songwriter. She's a must-listen for all folk lovers. What I love most about her is that the arrangements on her songs are always spectacular. From harps to steel guitars to some weird woodwinds, there's always a shitload of instruments on her albums, which is an absolute pleasure for the ears.

Her melodies always retain this peaceful feeling unique to her intricate chord progressions, songwriting and beautiful voice. They are soft and often tainted with a subtle melancholy which is really great for moody days.

Of course, her music is filled with this indescriptible Japanese charm that will have you always coming back for more. She will have you daydreaming about the seasons and happy times you thought were lost, guaranteed.

Make sure to listen to her self-titled full length. It has some songs produced by James Iha, and has the most rock elements of all her releases.
She also has a minor role in Linda Linda Linda, the best movie about teens making music!

HELLO WORLD

Please enjoy these albums as much as I do.
